Peels

A chemical peel is a process used to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin. A chemical solution is applied to the skin and it slowly works by dissolving the upper layers of the skin. Chemical peels can have many other benefits such as improving acne and acne scarring, soften wrinkles and fade age spots as well as improve the texture of the skin. Chemical peels can also be used on the chest or back.

The recovery time for a patient who has had a chemical peel can vary depending on the strength of the peel. You will have some slight pinkness after the treatment that usually fades rapidly. You will discuss the strength of your treatment and recovery time prior to your treatment.

The two types of chemical peels you will find at our clinic are:

Vitalize Peel®

Vitalize Peel® uses a blend of safe but effective acids which help lessen superficial lines, and produce a more youthful look with minimal down time. It is also effective for pigment that has changed in your skin from acne scarring, sun damage, age spots and freckles from hormone changes.

Results are generally seen after just one treatment for both peels, but a series of treatments is suggested for optimum results.
